Youth Ministry

Janet Rattigan

Janet Rattigan is the youth leader at Farnworth Christian Fellowship. With over 10 years experience of working with the younger generation, and as a high school mentor, Janet has a passion and enthusiasm to see the young people come to know Jesus and to be set free from the fears and pressures that so easily surround them. Her compassionate heart, easy rapport, fun-loving nature and love for each young person, make her approachable; whilst her love and worship of Father God empowers her to be the role model our youth need today.

Janet believes what the bible says, that we need to

'Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.' (Proverbs 22 v 6)

The Fellowship places great emphasis on the importance of teaching young people how to live a life that will honour and glorify Father God. They are instructed from the word of God and there is no compromise on issues that today's society might 'ok' for them. It is clear from the bible that we are to discipline children in love, and raise them up to a level of maturity, so they can become functional in their relationship with God and use the giftings the Father has given them. This becomes a strong foundation for their future years and leads to a life of purpose and accomplishment.

The youth (with ages ranging from 11-16) meet at the church on a Friday night from 5-7.30pm for a time of worship, teaching, fellowship, and dancing lessons etc!

National Level Involvement - Soul Survivor

Every year the youth group travels down to Shepton Mallet, Somerset, to take part in the Soul Survivor camp. This has been running for over 10 years and each year sees thousands of young people participate. The excitement is contagious and through all the fun and energetic activities, they are challenged to live for God. Contemporary worship and relevant teaching serve to empower and equip them to walk in holiness and righteousness. They never fail to bring back with them a fresh desire to make disciples and to make a difference in their generation.

Family Fun Day

In September 2007 a BBQ was organised in the church grounds and many of our neighbours, friends and family came along to join in the fun. Face painting, arts and crafts, bouncy castles were some of the varied activities on that day.
